My balances have never matched and adjustments have been made along the way that messed it up even further.

Welcome to the Community, Parts. If you're looking to reset your QuickBooks Online account, there are two ways to start over, depending on your account age and subscription level.

If your company file is 90 days old or older, or if you're using Simple Start, you'll need to cancel your current company and create a new one to start fresh.

For files less than 90 days old, you can refer to this article for guidance: Delete your data and start over.

However, if you mean a bank account, you can manually reset it by deleting the transactions. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Accounting menu, then select Bank transactions.
  2. Check the box beside the Date to select all transactions.
  3. Select Exclude.
  4. From the Excluded tab, select all the transactions, then click Delete.

Once done, you can manually upload your bank transactions into QBO.

For additional help organizing your transactions, check this article: Categorize online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.
