Hi,

Very apt term - Post Mortem. It was literally like that.

We had to close our client’s books and then close our own too. Were busy but somehow managed it.

Normalcy just about returned this week. Now we have to file our client’s taxes and then our own. Hope you all had a good time.

We wrote an article that recommends closing your books early to get a head start on tax season. The data end date is the last day of the year (December 31st), but the date to actually close your books and lock the data in QBO is flexible.

When should clients plan on closing their books/locking the data so there's plenty of time to hand off records to their accountants (or tax preparer)?
