Hello. I need to run a report to track when changes were made to a rate per employee. The report is available in desktop version but not online Quickbooks. I've looked at the employee details rpt and all other reports but cannot find anything that tracks when the rate was changed. Appears I have to go through each payperiod to find it?
Yes, you're right. You can find this report in QuickBooks Desktop as Employee Pay Adjustments History report. Currently, this is unavailable in QuickBooks Online.
Yes, you're correct that you have to go through each pay period when you pull up a report on the spot.
As a workaround, you can run the Paycheck History report in QuickBooks Online and then click the employee's name to see the rate by expanding or scaling down the date. Please follow these steps:
Go to the Reports menu and then the Payroll section.
Select Paycheck History.
Click the employee's name.
Adjust the reporting period.
To see more payroll reports that you can run and customize in QuickBooks Online, you can reference this article: Run payroll reports. It includes how to share payroll data through excel and print payroll reports.
If there's anything else I can help with, please let me know. I'll keep my notifications open. Have a safe day ahead!
Hello there, @KFLandscapes. Thank you for your inquiry about the Pay Rate History Report in QuickBooks Online (QBO). As of now, QBO does not have a specific Pay Rate History Report. However, I have a workaround that may help you gather the information you need.
You can run the Payroll Details report in QBO, which provides detailed information about your employees, including their pay rate, pay type, and other relevant payroll data. This report can give you a comprehensive view of the historical pay rates for your employees.
To run the Payroll Details report, please follow these steps:
Go to Reports from the left menu.
Click the Standard tab.
Scroll down to the Payroll section, then choose Payroll Details.
Change the Date Range and choose the desired Employee.
Click Run Report.
You can also visit the Run payroll reports to learn more about other available business statements of your employees.
Additionally, I encourage you to provide feedback to Intuit regarding your need for a Pay Rate History Report in QBO. Intuit values customer feedback and uses it to improve its products and services. You can submit your feedback directly through the QBO platform by going to the Gear icon > Feedback.
Also, you'll want to visit our QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website to track the status of your submitted feedback. You can also visit our blog to keep up with recent events and developments.
I've also added these articles as your reference in preparing your payroll tax forms in QuickBooks:

Except, unless I am missing something, the Payroll Details report does not actually give you the employee's pay rate as you suggest here. Nor is that an option under the 'customize' menu.
Please share where you see the employee's pay rate on this report.
Thank you
