As mentioned above, QuickBooks Online currently doesn't offer a direct built-in report to show active employees during a past period. As a workaround, you'll want to consider pulling up the Payroll Detail and PaycheckHistory. They provide information about the paychecks issued to workers and can help you infer their activity based on the pay dates.
The Employee Details report also provides insights into an employee's timeline with your company, including hire and termination dates. Using this, we can accurately determine when they joined your team or concluded their tenure. Here's how to pull them up:
Go to theReportsmenu.
Scroll down to thePayrollsection.
Open Payroll Detail, PaycheckHistory, and Employee Details.
Under who to include, selectAll employees.
Apply the desired customizations, then hitRunreport.
