If you're changing an employee's payment method from paper checks to direct deposit, make sure you have already set up your company's payroll for direct deposit. You'll also need your employee's bank details from a voided check or a direct deposit authorization form. Once you have that information, follow these steps:

  1. Go to All apps, select Team, and then click Employees.
  2. Pick your employee's name.
  3. Choose Job & pay.
  4. In the Payment method section, select Add or Edit.
  5. Select Direct deposit from the Payment method dropdown menu.
  6. Choose how you want to deposit the funds:
    • Direct deposit to one account
    • Direct deposit to two accounts (split by dollar amount or percentage)
    • Direct deposit with a balance as a check
  7. Enter the routing and account numbers from the employee's voided check.
  8. Click Save.

If your employee prefers to enter their own bank information, you can invite them to QuickBooks Workforce instead. We will send them a secure email link so they can log in and add their own account details.
