Question

I've run payroll and looking to change a payroll check from a paper check to direct deposit. How do I do that?

You'll have to delete the payroll check and recreate it using direct deposit, n-carpenter4. I'll lay down the steps to help you with the process.

Let's start by deleting the paycheck so we can update your employee payment method. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Payroll menu, then Employees.
  2. Click Paycheck list.
  3. Choose the paycheck(s) you'd like to delete or void, then select Delete.
  4. Tap Yes.

After that, follow steps 1-3 of this article to set up and manage your employees' direct deposit in payroll: Set up direct deposit for employees. Just make sure to select the QuickBooks Online Payroll section.

Finally, recreate the payroll to pay your employees with direct deposit as your payment method. Refer to this article for more information: Create and run your payroll.

Additionally, you can visit this article to provide a detailed breakdown of your employees' wages, deductions, and tax information for a specific period: Run payroll reports.

I'd love to get updates on how this goes. You're always welcome to add a comment below if you have any other questions about running payroll in QBO. Have a great day ahead!
