I'm getting the same error and it is making it impossible to edit/issue a year-end paycheck. This is incredibly frustrating, a software that does not even account for things correctly as accountants. When will this be fixed?????
Hey Marcus, yesterday I took the time to use the chat feature to help with support. There was no ETA on when the problem would/could be fixed, BUT they "added me to the list" of people to be "first in line" to be fixed, but more importantly for urgency, the person on support was ABLE to change the Employee's Salary to what I needed it to be changed to on their end so I could "move on" for now and quit "sweating." You might try that today for your urgent need. *fingers crossed that you get the same result that I did.*
I was able to circumvent this error and process bonus checks for my client by choosing the "Edit payroll items" shortcut from the Payroll overview tab. Under the Pay Types drop down, choosing "Bonus" allowed me to assign it to the employees who didn't already have that pay type available.
This error still needs to be fixed, but hopefully some of you can get your year-end checks processed in time with this method.
I was getting this error. I went to Payroll, Overview, Edit Payroll Items, Pay Types, Salary, Edit on the Employee and was able to update Salary there. This client has Auto Payroll turned on, so not sure if that has something to do with it. Hope this helps others.
