I'm here to ensure your employee can access time tracking, @datwell1.
Firstly, I would like to ask if you're using QuickBooks Online (QBO) or QuickBooks Workforce to rack your employee's time. If they've encountered any error messages while performing. This will help us give an accurate solution for this issue.
In the meantime, I suggest double-checking the setup of this employee so we can isolate this issue. If you're using QB Workforce, Here are the steps for customizing which members can clock in and out.
In QuickBooks Time, choose Company Settings, then Time Options, and click Time Entry.
Untick the Allow team members to manage their own timesheets.
Uncheck Allow team members to track time on the mobile app, and click Save.
Select My Team, and choose a team member.
Hit Permissions, then Mobile time entry, and click Save.
On the other hand, if you're using QBO to set up time tracking, I'll be here to walk you through the steps for setting this up correctly. We need to turn on the time-tracking option in QBO and then adjust the preference so your members will have access to this feature. Here's how:
Go to the Gear icon and select Account and settings.
Select the Time tab.
Click the pencil icon on the General section.
From there on, set your time tracking preferences:
In the Who tracks time: Choose the team members who can track time.
After that, turn the switch on for any employees who need time tracking.
If the issue persists after rechecking the setup, I suggest performing some troubleshooting steps. Sometimes, the accumulated cache in your browser may cause errors when accessing the time-tracking functionality in QuickBooks. We can start accessing your account in a private or incognito window.
You can use these keyboard shortcuts to open a private window:
