Question

Roaming employee paycheck

Quickbooks Online: I have employees that may work in a different jurisdiction during a pay period. How can I get the time to track to each jurisdiction? I've learned that I have to set up multiple work locations and track the local taxes, but have to create multiple paychecks. It seems that I have to manually change the time sheet to move the hours for each jurisdiction and create multiple paychecks. Anyone have experience with this and found a work around?

Thank you for reaching out in the Community, ch2031. Managing payroll for employees who work in different jurisdictions during a pay period can be a bit tricky in QuickBooks Online. Still, you're on the right track with setting up multiple work locations and tracking local taxes.

QuickBooks Online Payroll currently doesn't have an automatic feature to split hours across multiple jurisdictions within a single paycheck. Instead, you'll need to manually adjust the timesheet to move the hours for each jurisdiction and create multiple paychecks.
