Unable to send pay stubs "Enter an email address in the to field"

I've used QuickBook Enhanced Desktop payroll for three years. Just today I'm getting an error saying "Enter an email address in the to field". I've verified all employees have emails entered and that there are no errors. Anyone else experiencing this issue? I've ran all of the updates.

I appreciate you for taking the initiative to confirm your employees' emails, and making sure everything is updated, James. This issue happens when the connection between the software  and your email service is unstable. To resolve this, we'll reset your email preferences.

 

Here's how:
 

  1. Go to the Edit menu, then select Preferences.
  2. Click on Send Forms.
  3. Open the My Preferences tab.
  4. Change the Send e-mail using option to QuickBooks E-mail or Web Mail, and click OK.
  5. Immediately repeat the steps, but switch the setting back to your original email service (e.g., Outlook or Web Mail).
  6. Close and reopen QuickBooks to see if this resolves the issue.

 

On the other hand, I recommend running the Rebuild Tool in QuickBooks as this can also fix your company data with the email error.

 

Here's how to rebuild your data: 

 

  1. Go to the File menu.
  2. Click Utilities and select Rebuild Data.
  3. When the QuickBooks Information window appears, select OK and follow the steps to save a backup.
  4. The tool will start repairing your company file. This process can take some time, and QuickBooks may appear frozen, but as long as your mouse works, the tool is still running in the background.
  5. Once the process is done, click OK.
  6. Go back again to the File menu, then Utilities, and select Verify Data.
  7. Let the tool check for any further issues in your file.

 

If no problems are found, select OK and continue using your company file as usual. If there’s still an issue, choose Rebuild Now to fix it. Rebuilding it can refresh your data and help you send pay stubs successfully.
