Question

Why is employee name not added to time entry details from invoice in QBO? Contractor name is showing but not employee.

Generally when invoicing time entries, the detail is added to the invoice and QB adds the employee/contractor name when printed, but employee name is not being generated.

The employee's name that was added in the time entry details won't show when you printing invoice if the Include employee name box is unchecked from the Custom Form Styles section, @tmaddin.

To validate this reason, let's go and see it. Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon in the upper right corner.
  2. Below the Your Company column, select Custom form styles.
  3. Look for your default invoice template and go to the Edit tab under the Action option.
  4. Move to the Content section and hover your cursor over the middle table of the template on the right side.
  5. Scroll down, and find the Show more activity options.
  6. Be sure that you check the boxes for 'Show billable time', 'Include employee name', and 'Include hours and rate'.
  7. Once you're finished, tick Done to save changes.

If this isn't the case, there could be an issue with the printing system you have. Feel free to check this article to resolve this: How to update, repair, or reinstall Adobe Reader/Acrobat.
