Can i run a 'dummy' payroll to check everything is ok before using for real?

You run a dummy payroll and do submissions in test mode. To do this if you go to payroll settings>HMRC settings>under RTI submissions>Would you like to make RTI submissions in test mode for this business?>turn on.

Once you have tested you can go back in and turn the test mode off.

When you run the payroll you can then unlock and delete it which rolls it back more information on how to do that can be found here.
