We have employees who are student placements on a fixed 12 month contract. This means they don't qualify for the minimum wage - how do I record this is QB payroll?

There is no setting for student placements on QuickBooks Online Payroll, it is only possible to set up employees for PAYE. 

Please note under HMRC guidance placements and internships may be referred to as ‘unpaid work’ or ‘expenses only’. We'd recommend checking if the person is a volunteer for minimum wage purposes or if an exemption applies. If the person(s) should not be included in the payroll, you can record the payment using an Expense in QuickBooks.
