We have received a grant from HMRC. how do i categorize this?

If this is a grant and you don't need to re-pay it back. You can create a specific income or equity account. Then create a deposit and select the income/equity account in the Account column of the 'add funds to this deposit' section. This will then show the grant you got off HMRC in the system.
