Thanks for turning to the QuickBooks Community for support! Although QuickBooks offers different pay frequencies, Annual payroll isn't on the list. However, you can make your employee inactive, then reactivate their profile once a year when you're ready to run payroll for them. Here is how you can make this happen.
Head to the "Payroll" tab and select "Employees".
Click on the employee in question.
In the "Employee details" section, click on "Edit"
Under "Status" click the drop down arrow, then chose the option that best suits the situation.
Enter the required information, the hit "Save".
Once you're ready to make the employee active again, you can follow these steps.
From the left menu, select Payroll and then Employees.
Select the "Active Employees" dropdown.
Select "All Employees".
Select on the Employee Name and then select the "Edit" next to Employment.
Change the Status.
Complete any additional fields as you see necessary.
