Thanks for reaching out about your payroll deductions. QuickBooks Online Payroll is a great tool able to help you calculate the pay for your employees for the hours they've worked. I can provide some information as to why the employees may not have CPP deducted.
The first would indeed be if the work location is set to Quebec, as Quebec workers get deducted QPP instead of CPP. Another reason would be if the option to have a CPP exemption was checked when creating the employee. To see if either of the two scenarios is correct, go to the Payroll tab, then click on the employee in question. In the Employment details section, you'll see the work location of the employee, and in the next section below, if CPP is marked as exempt, it will show under the Tax exemptions header. You can edit those sections if needed by clicking on the Edit button.
