Being able to pull payroll information outside of creating an ROE is a great idea and what QuickBooks Online report feature is all about. I'd be happy to help you get your employees total hours worked pulled up.
QuickBooks Online lets you pull up information quickly to help you save time when looking through reports. In order to pull up an employees hours worked for this year I recommend running the Payroll summary by employee. You can find this report by going to Reports>Payroll>Payroll summary by employee. Once you pull up the report you just need to select the time period you wish the report to show. You can also customize this report to just show hours by following the steps in this article.
