Thanks for reaching out to us here. QuickBooks Online Payroll gives you the option to make inactive employees, active again. I would be happy to provide some information.
To make your employee active again, follow these steps below:
1. From the left menu, select Payroll and then Employees
2. Right above your employee list, select the drop-down for Active employees and switch it to All or Inactive employees
3. Click on the employee's name, then click the Edit ✎ next to Employment
4. Update their employment status as needed then click Done
