If an employee declines dental coverage I understand I have to show them as dental being offered, however how do I determine if it is for employee only or for family.

Thanks for reaching out regarding dental coverage on payroll. QuickBooks Online Payroll is a great tool able to help you pay your employees based on the hours they've worked. I can point you in the right direction for assistance with dental deductions.

To know if you'd need to record that it was for employees only, or for family as well, I recommend speaking to your accountant. Their expertise will be able to help you enter this to make sure all your records are accurate. You can invite your accountant to your QuickBooks Online account by clicking on the My Accountant tab. There's also an option to find an accountant near you in that section by clicking on the Find a Pro to help button.
