Welcome to the QuickBooks Community forum! Thanks for specifying what province you're looking to record WCB for in QuickBooks Online Payroll. Knowing that makes a difference, and I can go over this with you.
Our product development team is always on the job of adding more features to QuickBooks Online and Payroll to ensure that you have the tools you need to record data in your books. When it comes to worker's compensation, the team has added the tracking option for Quebec, Ontario, and British Columbia, but at this time, the option isn't available for other provinces. There also isn't a workaround that we recommend because even if you were to add a custom deduction, the program won't track the details properly for your reporting.
What we recommend instead if keeping track of these details outside of the Payroll module. I recommend speaking with an accountant to learn the ways you might do that while keeping your books in balance so that you have the confidence you've got the information you need. The My Accountant tab in QuickBooks Online is a great asset in these cases since it provides a field to invite someone you're working with as an accountant user and it also has the option of the Find a pro to help button. This directs you to our list of QuickBooks-certified accountants who can help.
Like I mentioned, the team is always looking to enhance what QuickBooks Online and its add-on services have to off, so this is a great opportunity to let them know that you'd like to see WCB tracking for Alberta in the Payroll module. Leaving feedback is as simple as the steps outlined in our How do I submit feedback? article, and then you can keep up to date with new features via the QuickBooks Online Feature and Product Updates page.
I hope this has been helpful for you. Don't hesitate to leave a reply if you have additional questions. :)
