Are you updating your business phone number through your firm's Company Settings, or your personal sign-in number in the Manage your Intuit Account portal?

When you encounter a generic "something went wrong" error message, it could be due to temporary system glitches or cached browser data interfering with the website's security scripts.

To fix this, let’s first refresh the page by pressing F5, then close any extra QuickBooks tabs you aren't using. Next, sign out of your account and log back in.

If that doesn't work, try opening a private/incognito window or switching to a different browser like Google Chrome. This bypasses loading errors caused by old browser data.

After completing the steps above, you can update your business phone number to see if this resolves the problem.
