Hi info-suncoaster,

Welcome to the Community!

The GST amount due reported in your BAS is based on the transactions entered in QuickBooks Online coded with tax code. Make sure to turn on and set up your GST to be able to apply GST codes on your transactions. Let me guide you on how to enable your GST.

  1. Click on the GST tab, and click Get started.
  2. On the Setup BAS page, select your GST filing frequency and other taxes.
  3. Click on Save and finish.

Once done, you can start recording your transactions and make sure to assign the GST tax codes to them. If transactions have been recorded, go back to each transaction and assign GST codes.

If you're done recording the transactions, you can start lodging your BAS. Here's how:

  1. Click on the GST tab, if it's your first time lodging the BAS click on Get started and enter the date of the BAS to be lodged.
  2. Check the amounts of taxes showing, and click on Next.
  3. After viewing the complete business activity statement (BAS), click on Mark as lodged to close the tax period in QuickBooks Online. If you've enabled e-lodgement of BAS you'll see Lodge with ATO option.

For more details about BAS e-lodgment you can check this link Enable BAS electronic lodgement in QuickBooks Online and How to lodge a BAS or IAS in QuickBooks Online.
