Learn how to set up a PIN or Touch ID for your iPhone or iPad.
Save time signing into the QuickBooks Online app by using a PIN or Touch ID instead of entering your username and password each time you log in. iPhone and iPad users can set this up by following the steps below.
Set up App PIN
iPhone
- Go to your device's Settings, then select App PIN.
- Slide the App PIN button to turn it on.
- Select and confirm the code you'll use to open the QuickBooks Online app.
Things to know:
- You can turn App PIN functionality on and off as well as change your App PIN.
- If you forget your App PIN, simply sign in with your username and password, and reset your App PIN in Settings. If you have multiple devices, you can use different App PINs for each one.
iPad
- Go to your device's Settings, choose Account, then select App PIN.
- Slide the App PIN button to turn it on.
- Select and confirm your digit code. You'll use this code to open the QuickBooks Online app.
Things to know:
- You can turn App PIN functionality on and off as well as change it at any time.
- If you forget your App PIN, just sign in with your username and password, and reset your App PIN in Settings. If you have multiple devices, you can use different App PINs for each one.
Set up Touch ID
iPhone
- From the Menu ☰, select Settings.
- Slide the App PIN button right to turn it on.
- Slide the Touch ID button right to activate Touch ID.
- Close and re-open the QuickBooks Online app.
Things to know:
- When you see the Touch ID for QuickBooks Online prompt, place the same finger that you previously used to set up Touch ID for your device on the Home button to register your fingerprint.
- If QuickBooks Online can't authenticate your fingerprint, sign in with your username and password, and then try setting up Touch ID again.
iPad
- From the Menu ☰, select Settings ⚙, then choose Account, then select Touch ID and App PIN.
- Slide the App PIN button right to turn it on.
- Slide the Touch ID button right to activate Touch ID.
- Close and re-open the QuickBooks Online app.
Things to know:
- When you see the Touch ID for QuickBooks Online prompt, place the same finger that you previously used to set up Touch ID for your device on the Home button to register your fingerprint.
