Yes, you can, @deglman_tile. I’m here to show you how to import your data and switch your subscription.

Before we start, I recommend saving and downloading all your files, especially your financial reports from QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE). This way, you can access the information quickly when needed.

Here’s how:

  1. In QBSE, go to the Reports menu.
  2. Click Download to get a Tax Details report.
  3. You can download each tax year you have in the program.
  4. Repeat the following actions above for your Tax summary, Tag totals, Profit and Loss, Mileage Log, and Receipts.

Once done, go to your Settings (Gear icon) and Billing info to check if you can automatically move your data into QuickBooks Online (QBO). If you can see the Explore QuickBooks Online plans, click it to start the upgrade. Otherwise, you need to manually transfer your files. See our conversion guide for detailed instructions. Pay heed directly to step 2.

Make sure to cancel your QBSE account if you’ll no longer using it. This prevents you from charges or double billing moving forward.

Here’s an illuminating article that contains ways and tips to get started with QBO: Set up your QBO company. You can also visit our QuickBooks Support page for more resources and tutorials.

If you have follow-up questions about the upgrade procedure or QBO-related concerns, please don't hesitate to add a message below. I’ll be more than happy to assist you. Have a good day and take care always!
