After doing the update yesterday I keep getting error message. "The procedure entry point_CxxFrameHandler4 could not be located"

After running the tool hub, I spent an hour and a half with a QB support person who tried the sample file with no luck and I believe did a complete new install.  None of this worked and she suggested I call my IT person.  I did and the error message has to do with a display file that cannot be found.  He ran a generic update on the server last night and no change.  Has anyone found a specific server update to resolve this issue?  I can't believe I'm the only one having this issue.  Has anyone worked with a QB support person that fixed it?  I do appreciate all of your suggestions, thank you for your time.

I really appreciate all the troubleshooting you've done so far, @rdmc. One additional step to check is whether the qbmapi64.exe error is still occurring. Please press Ctrl + Alt + Delete on your keyboard and select Task Manager to end that task before moving on to the next steps.

Next, let’s jump into your install folder. Typically, it’s located in C:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks 2024\. Once you're there, look for a file named D3DCompiler_47.dll and just rename it to D3DCompiler_47.dll.old. Now, we’re going to swap it for a fresh version, head over to C:\Windows\System32, copy the D3DCompiler_47.dll file from there, and paste it right back into that QuickBooks folder C:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks 2024\.

The underlying error message appears to be related to a corrupted version of D3DCompiler_47.dll, which is associated with the latest QuickBooks Desktop update.

Please let us know if you have additional concerns.

Good afternoon, @rdmc

We appreciate you bringing your concern about this new error message within your QBDT.

To clarify, are you running QuickBooks on a virtual machine environment? Some users that are having this same issue are running on a virtual machine. If this is the case, we suggest to run QB on a recommended environment. Here's some other details about recommended networks for QB in this link.

This will help us narrow down the cause and to give you the best solution. I'll be waiting for your response!

I checked with out IT person and we are running one of the recommended  servers.  He has run several updates and the issue is not resolved.

What has any one found to fix this issue?  Please post a link or explanation.

Hi there, rdmc. I appreciate you checking in with your IT team and ensuring the app is running on the recommended servers. To further resolve these issues, I recommend using the QuickBooks Desktop Tool Hub.

The Tool Hub is a centralized diagnostic utility designed to fix common software errors, such as 6123, H202, and general application crashes.

To install and utilize the QuickBooks Desktop Tool Hub, please follow the procedures outlined in this article. The guide provides comprehensive instructions for downloading the utility and detailed explanations of its various diagnostic features.

If the Tool Hub does not resolve the issue, I suggest performing a clean reinstall of QuickBooks Desktop. This will replace damaged program files and clear out any corrupted background configurations.
