QuickBooks support Mac versions 2017 and up. You can still download and install the software but some of the add-on services, and online updates are discontinued. Let me walk you through how you can download.

1. Prepare your license and product number.
2. Then, download and install QuickBooks for Mac.
3. Open your company file on the newly installed program.

Once you've opened a company file using a particular version on QuickBooks, you cannot open it using an older version. However, if you created a backup of the company file before upgrading it, you can import previous accounting data into the older version of this software.

Let me guide you on how to restore data from a backup file.

Note: If your backup company file is on an external device like a USB or a hosting service like Box, make sure to move its file to the local hard drive to avoid errors.

1. In your QuickBooks Desktop.
2.  Go to the File menu at the top
3. Select Open or Restore Company.
4. Select Restore a backup copy and then Next.
5. Select Local Backup and then click Next.
6. Click on Browse and select the backup file. It should look like this: [Your company name].qbb.
7. Select a folder to save your restored company file. Then select Open.
8. When you're ready, click Save.
