Question

QB2024_Core_R19R20_msp.dat cannot confirm publisher.

 Someone isn't signing their code properly.  I just downloaded this update for Quickbooks Premier Plus 2024 and windows 11 won't let the update happen. 

 

It saying "Can't confirm publisher" on the QB2024_Core_R19R20_msp.dat file and deleting/blocking it the instant the updater downloads it.

 

I've run the Tool hub program and have Clicked / installed the defender exceptions button.  So someone needs to check their code signing.

    Hey there, @EC_Eric.

     

    How are you doing today? I hope all is well. 

     

    Since the QuickBooks Tool Hub and exceptions didn't work, I recommend manually installing the Intuit Certificate. This tells Windows that Intuit is a trusted publisher so it stops the "instant delete" behavior.

     

    Here's how: 

     

    1. Close QuickBooks.
    2. Open File Explorer and go to: C:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks 2024 (or your installation folder).
    3. Find qbupdate.exe, right-click it, and select Properties.
    4. Go to the Digital Signatures tab.
    5. Select Intuit, Inc. from the list and click Details.
    6. Click View Certificate, then select Install Certificate.
    7. Follow the wizard: Select Local Machine > Place all certificates in the following store > Trusted Root Certification Authorities.
    8. Finish the wizard, restart your computer, and try the update again.
