QuickBooks Mac 2020 Admin Password Reset Fails at “Verifying Your Information”
I am trying to access my existing QuickBooks Desktop for Mac 2020 company file on a new Mac.
QuickBooks Mac 2020 is installed and working. I successfully registered the software using my original License Number, Product Number, and Validation Code. QuickBooks confirmed: “Thank you for registering QuickBooks!”
My company file/backup is also recognized and restores successfully. However, I do not know the Administrator password because on my previous Mac the company file opened automatically.
When I click the lock icon on the Administrator login screen to reset the password, a window briefly appears saying “Verifying your information…” and then I immediately receive:
“QuickBooks could not verify your information. Make sure QuickBooks is registered with a valid license number and email address and that your computer is currently online.”
The Mac is online, and QuickBooks 2020 has just successfully completed registration.
How can I get past the “Verifying your information” failure so I can reset the Administrator password for my existing company file?
I still have my original QuickBooks 2020 license/product information and access to the company files and backups.
