Hello there, Cooper.

Welcome to the Community. Let me share some information about entering a credit balance in QuickBooks Desktop.

The credit balance enters as a negative number. When you're new to QuickBooks Desktop, you pick a day to start tracking your transactions. You enter real-life bank account balances for the day you pick. This way, QuickBooks matches your bank records from the start.
