Software Upgrade from 2010

Let me help you install your 2010 company file once you upgrade to the QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) 2024 version.

If you have a portable copy of the file, you can open your 2010 company file in QBDT 2024. If you don't have it or it doesn't work, you can perform the 3-year interval bridging process to update the file to make it compatible with the 2024 version.

First off, you'll need to get trial versions of QBDT 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019, 2022, then 2024 to achieve this.

You can follow these steps once you reach in 2024:

1. Ensure all users sign out of your company file.
2. Open your 2024 QBDT.
3. Select Open or Restore Company from the File tab.
4. Click Open a company file, then Next. If you have a backup company file (QBB) instead of a company file (QBW), choose to Restore a backup copy.
5. Find and select your company file. Then, Open.
6. Sign in to your company file as the admin user.
7. Select Update now.
8. Once finished, click Done.
