Upgrade from QB Premier Contractor 2014 to QBDT 2021 on w11 pro

I recently got a copy of QBDT 2021 with activation key & product code and plan to install it on new computer running w11 pro.

Currently, I run QB Contractor 2014 on a w7 computer.  I know I'd be losing the contractor functionality, but would there be any issues with restoring the basic company file data itself when going to from the 2014 premier contractor version to the newer pro version?

Thanks in advance

Can you find your QB Desktop 2021 license in CAMPS?

My 2014 QB is in CAMPS, but the 2021 version has not been installed or activated yet. Should I be using Premier 21 to get the contractor functionality?

Your proactive approach is essential for optimizing your business operations, Lioninstreet. I'm here to provide further information to help you effectively utilize QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for your contracting needs, ensuring efficient business management.

Before we begin, could you clarify if you’re asking about tracking your vendors' transactions? If so, you can definitely have the contractor functionality in QuickBooks Desktop Premier 2021, as long as it’s been successfully installed on your computer.

However, it's important to note that QBDT 2021 is a discontinued version. This means that all online services and product updates are no longer accessible. Additionally, you'll have to contact our technical support if you can no longer activate the software on your end.

On the other hand, if you're asking about switching to contractor or other industry-specific editions, this option is indeed available in QBDT Premier.

Moreover, when installing the program, it's essential to check your computer's compatibility. Then, update your company file when you're done. For detailed guidance, please refer to these guides:
