Hi I am getting the cannot connect to HMRC so I am unable to file my return but everything is correc

I understand the importance of connecting to HMRC to file your VAT return in QuickBooks Online (QBO), zoeg. I can share some insights about this. 

The Making Tax Digital (MTD) needs to be reconnected every 18 months. This is to fulfill HMRC's security standards and safeguard your data.

To do that, we need to turn off MTD and then, disconnect and reconnect it. There are a few things to consider before disconnecting.

• Information will no longer be shared between QuickBooks Online and HMRC.
• You will no longer be able to submit digital VAT returns.
• You can reconnect to HMRC at any time by following the authorisation steps in this article.

Here's how to Turn off MTD:

1. Navigate to the Taxes tab. 
2. Click Edit Vat and select Edit settings. 
3. Toggle to Turn off the MTD. 
4. Follow the on-screen process. 

To Disconnect MTD:

1. Navigate to the Gear icon, and click Account and Settings under Your Company. 
2. Click the Making Tax Digital in the Advanced section. 
3. Choose the option to learn how to disconnect and click Continue. 
4. Confirm the disconnection by selecting Disconnect. 
5. Once done, click Continue. 

To reconnect MTD:

1. Navigate to the Gear icon, and click Account and Settings under Your Company. 
2. Click the Making Tax Digital in the Advanced section. 
3. Choose the option to learn how to connect and click on authorise now.
4. Login to your MTD for VAT and give a permission to QuickBooks.
