Question

I have QB Simple Start and have set up MTD for IT with HMRC. The business is set up at a sole trader in the UK but there is no 'Income Tax' section available?

looking in the 'All Apps' section there is no 'Income Tax' section? It was available before the recent chage to QB. Can anyone help set up income tax to allow MTD reporting?

Hi there, Simon. Once your MTD for Income Tax is set up correctly, the Income Tax section should automatically appear in your QuickBooks Online.

To resolve this, double-check your MTD setup under VAT to check everything is completed and connected. After that, return to All Apps and locate the Income Tax. Refer to the image below.

If still not showing, try signing out of your QuickBooks Online account and then signing back in. If the issue continues, try accessing your account in an incognito or private browsing window.

Also, make sure you’re using a supported browser, such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Safari, when accessing QuickBooks Online.

Once you’ve completed these troubleshooting steps, your account should refresh, and the Income Tax section should appear as expected.
