How does a client pay with credit card? And does my business get charged a processing fee?

You'll need to set up QuickBooks Payments to accept credit cards in QuickBooks Online. After your Payments account is connected, you can send your customers an invoice that includes a link to pay online.

To connect your QuickBooks Payments account to QuickBooks Online, follow these steps:

1. Sign in to QBO as an admin.
2. Go to the Gear icon, then select Account and settings.
3. Select the Payments tab, then click Activate payments.
4. Follow the steps to connect your QuickBooks Payments account.
5. Click Get Set Up, and then click Done.

Then, create an invoice. Your client will receive an email that includes a Pay Online link. From the secure payment portal, your customer can enter their credit card, debit card, or bank account information.

Most merchant service agreements stipulate that the merchant is responsible for credit card processing fees. The processing fees for QuickBooks Online are 2.9% + $0.25 per credit card transaction and 1% per ACH bank transfer.
