Starting fresh with your QuickBooks data is an excellent way to ensure everything aligns with your objectives. Let me walk you through the best options for resetting your account so you can move forward smoothly.
Currently, QuickBooks Online doesn’t offer a one-click option to reset all your data. However, I’ve outlined some steps to manage this based on your situation.
Firstly, if your account is less than 90 days old, you can make use of the Purge feature to delete all your data and start over:
Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
Please note that you need to be logged in as an Admin.
Once you're signed in, click this link. Alternatively, you can go to your browser's address bar, erase everything currently there, and input the following web address: https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/purgecompany.
Follow the instructions to clear all your data and reset your company.
To confirm the deletion of your company data, type Yes.
Click on OK and select Wipe Data to proceed.
On the other hand, if your account is older than 90 days, you'll need to cancel your current QuickBooks Online company and set up a new one:
Note: Once you cancel QuickBooks, your data will be deleted after one year, which gives you some time to reconsider and potentially return to your previous account.
Step 2: After canceling, you can create a new company account:
