Welcome to Community, @tbcimprovhk.

Using Projects in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is a great way to track and manage income, expenses, and profitability for individual projects.

First, you need to turn on the Project feature.

Here is a detailed guide on how to effectively use the Projects feature:

  1. Go to the Gear icon in the upper- right corner.
  2. Select Account and settings.
  3. Click the Advanced tab.
  4. Locate the Projects section and click the Edit.
  5. Toggle the feature to On, click Save and then select Done.

Once done, we can finally use the Project.

  1. Go to the + New and select Projects.
  2. In the Project list, click the Start a project.
  3. In the Project Name field, input the name of the project.
  4. Choose your customer.
  5. Provide customer's Email address. Note: The email automatically populates if it was added when creating the customer.
  6. Enter the project's Start Date and End Date.
  7. Select a status for the project. Optional: Add additional project details in the notes.
  8. If you need to input billing and shipping addresses for the project, enable Address for this project.
  9. Choose a country. If the shipping address differs from the billing address, deselect the Same a billing address checkbox. Then, input the appropriate shipping details of the project.
  10. Finally, click Save.
