in house accountant posted sales but inventory is not reducing

To assist you better, may I ask what kind of Sales transaction your accountant posted?
 
If they posted an Invoice or Sales Receipt, the system will automatically deduct your inventory items.
 
If it were an estimate, there would not be any deduction since it is a non-posting transaction. 

If the transaction was an invoice or sales receipt and the inventory was not deducted, try refreshing the webpage to check again. 

If the issue persists after refreshing, you may consider deleting and recreating the inventory item.
