We didn't remove the feature of working QuickBooks Online (QBO) in multiple windows, @ruth10.
I'm here to provide the steps to help resolve your concern depending on the platform you're using. This way, your business will get back on track.
If you're using the browser tabs, its cache may be full of frequently accessed page resources. This may cause unusual behavior in the program, such as being unable to work in more than one window.
We can start by logging into your QBO account using an incognito window since it doesn't store data in the cache. Thus, it's a great way to isolate browser-related issues. Here are the keyboard shortcuts:
Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
Safari: Command + Shift + N
Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + P
Second, let's reset the app data to clear its cache. It helps restore the application to its default settings, so you'll able to work in multiple windows. I'll guide you how.
Go to Help from the top menu.
Select Reset App Data.
Allow a moment for the process to complete, and then close the app.
Be sure to right-click the app and choose Run as Administrator when re-opening it.
To learn more about using multiple windows, see the last section through this article: QBO App for Windows and Mac.
Lastly, I recommend visiting this resource hub to effectively manage your income, expenses, inventory, banking, VAT, and QBO account.
I'm here anytime you have other concerns. Enjoy the rest of your day, @ruth10.
