Can we have the carryforward opening trial balance without any transaction on the 1st day of the year?

Hi there, @mohamed11_2.  I’d be happy to share my insights regarding your concern.

When generating the Trial Balance report, it will include all transactions if you set the date range from the previous year up to the first day of the year. Currently, the option to exclude transactions specifically created on the first day of the year is unavailable.

As a workaround,  adjust the date range in the report settings to exclude transactions dated January 1. Example: 01/02/2024 to 12/31/2024 (skipping January 1). This will filter out transactions from the first day of the year.

However, if you need a report that includes January 1 but excludes transactions created on that date, you can use the Transaction Detail by Account report and customize it to meet your requirements.

Here's how: 
 

1. Go to Reports.
2. Select Transaction Detail by Account then customize the report.
3. Columns: Select only Debit and Credit.
   
   

    

   
   

    

4. Filter: Use the following settings:
    

• On the first filter field, select Line created date.
• On the second filter field, select is less than.   
• Finally, set the date range from the previous year’s date to example: 01/01/2025.
