You can stop the due date from automatically calculating a future date by changing your default payment terms to Due on receipt. While the due date field cannot be completely removed from bills, updating your default settings will make the due date match the bill date automatically.

To update the default payment terms:

  1. Navigate to the Gear icon, then choose Account and settings.
  2. Go to the Expenses tab and update the Default bill payment terms setting as needed.
  3. Select Save.

You can also update the terms for a specific vendor:

  1. Go to Expenses, then Vendors.
  2. Select the vendor and choose Edit.
  3. In the Terms dropdown, choose Due on receipt or the appropriate payment terms.
  4. Select Save.

After updating the terms, new bills will follow the selected payment terms, reducing the need to manually adjust the due date.
