For now, budgets can only be set up and run in your home currency. QBO cannot create a budget in a foreign currency. Aside from that, the Budget vs. Actuals report can only be run in a certain fiscal year. It cannot be run using different currencies straddling different periods.

To avoid significant manual work in Excel, your best option is to integrate a third-party app that offers complex budgeting, multi-currency, and non-fiscal period reporting features.

These apps pull the raw data from QBO and allow you to build custom reports that meet your donor requirements.

Here is how to look for an approved app within QBO:

1. Go to the Apps menu, then proceed to the Find apps tab.
2. Search for terms like budgeting, grant management, or advanced reporting in the Search bar.
