Are you referring to a serial number and trying to put it on the purchase order form? If so, you can add a custom field to form and enter the number when you create the transaction.
Let me show you how.
Go to Settings ⚙.
Select Custom fields from under the Lists column.
Click Addfield.
Enter the name.
Mark the Purchase Order box, then enable the Print on form option.
Click Save.
You can then see the custom field when you create a purchase order. Here's a sample screenshot as your guide.
