Question

Can I go back to QuickBooks Self Employed? I can't use this new online version. Thanks, Rebekah

I want to revert to Self-Employed, as it was much easier for me to use.

Where is your company located? US or another country?

There is no option to directly switch back or downgrade from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Self-Employed because they run on entirely different software platforms.

Additionally, QuickBooks Self-Employed is now a discontinued product. However, you can manually move your information by opening a new QuickBooks Sole Trader account, which functions similarly to QuickBooks Self-Employed.

You can review a full breakdown of the features here: QuickBooks Sole Trader feature comparison.

Here's how to set up your account:

  1. Go to our Plans & Pricing page, then choose Sole Trader Plus.
  2. Follow the on-screen prompts to create the account.

Once that's finished, this article will show you how to reconnect your bank accounts and sort your transactions: Getting started with QuickBooks Sole Trader Plus.
