IF STP is not setup why can't I run an employee payment summaries report in my QuickBooks? I was able to run the report a month age

In order to generate payment summaries, you need to ensure that a) STP is not enabled and b) that the employees are set up as 'closely held' employees. If they are not set up as closely held and therefore exempt from finalisation, you will not see the option to continue when trying to generate the summaries. You can check this by:

1. Select the Employees tab and click on the employee's name.
2. Choose the menu Pay Run Defaults from the left.
3. Scroll down to the bottom and tick 'Closely held employee', then Save.
4. Return to the main Employees page, and select Reports.
5. Select Payment Summaries (under the ATO Reporting subheading) to check the report once more.
