Question

Why is my credit card showing as a positive amount? It should read -765 but it shows 765 and then as the total accounts its added to the other amounts showing positive

This should be a negative and then taking from my overall amount? Ie showing 1000 in one account and -765 in the other so net should show the difference of 235 but it shows 1765 instead

Can you share where specifically the positive amount is showing up? Is it in the report or account register?

QuickBooks Online displays credit card balances as positive numbers by design to indicate active debt. Because it treats liabilities as positive values in account views and adds them to totals rather than subtracting them.

To see your true net balance ($235), you can pull up a Balance Sheet report, which properly separates assets from liabilities to calculate your true net financial position.
