Hello there, microemsolutions.

I'll provide some steps regarding cancelling your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.

To deactivate your QBO account, you'll have to cancel your subscription through the Gear icon and then Account and Settings. To guide you further, please follow these steps.

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online as the primary or company admin.
  2. Go to Settings ⚙ and select Account and settings.
  3. Select Billing & subscription.
  4. In the QuickBooks section, select Cancel subscription or Cancel online.
  5. Follow the onscreen steps to proceed.

Regarding getting a refund after deactivating your account, you have a 60-day money-back guarantee if you're in an annual subscription, not a monthly one. If you're in an annual-based subscription, please check out this article for the detailed steps to request a refund: Request a refund for your QuickBooks product.

Otherwise, you can also reach out to our Customer Care Team for other clarifications related to a refund request. They can pull up your account in a secure environment, which we're unable to perform here in the Community.

In addition, you may read this reference to understand how we are keeping your account information for a cancelled subscription: Cancel your QuickBooks Online subscription or trial.

Feel free to get back here in the Community if you have more questions about deactivating your QBO account. I'd be glad to assist you further. Stay safe!
