To downgrade a QuickBooks Online (QBO) plan, the client should review the available pricing plans to determine which subscription best suits their needs.

 

Please ensure that your client selects the country where they're located.

 

If your client has a subscription from Advance, Plus, or Essentials, they can still downgrade.

 

Clients with a Simple Start subscription cannot downgrade, as it is the lowest tier in QBO.

 

Here's how to downgrade a plan:

 

  1. In your QuickBooks Online Accountant, navigate to the Gear icon and choose Subscriptions and Billing.
  2. In the All Clients column, switch to the Show Only Accountant-Billed tab.
  3. Locate your client and click the arrow beside their name to expand the subscription details.
  4. From the Subscription actions dropdown menu, select Downgrade.
  5. Click the plan you want to downgrade to, then click Choose plan.
  6. Finally, click Change Plan.

 

Your client can also downgrade their subscription by following these steps: Upgrade or downgrade your product's edition.
