Question

Should I change my settings, use a different setup process, or contact support to purchase the U.S. version of QuickBooks Online when adding a U.S. client from Japan?

When using QuickBooks Accountant from Japan to add a U.S. corporate client, selecting “Yes, add a subscription” results in the Japanese version being purchased. What steps should I take to ensure that the U.S. version of QuickBooks Online is purchased instead?

Thank you for reaching out in the Community, info2329.

You don’t need to change any settings or set up a different process in your QuickBooks Online Accountant (Japan). If you have accidentally purchased an incorrect subscription for your client, you can cancel it. For guidance, please refer to this link: Cancel your subscription.

Once the subscription is canceled, here’s how you can purchase the correct subscription under the US region:

  1. Go to this link and update the Country and Language settings to:
    US United States
    English
  2. Click Save preferred country and select Switch to United States.
  3. In the Welcome to Intuit pop-up window, ensure you choose the Visit the US site option.
  4. Navigate to the Plans & Pricing menu or select the See plans & pricing button.
  5. Review the available QuickBooks Online subscription plans, select the appropriate plan for your client, and click Choose plan.
  6. Proceed with the purchasing process. When prompted, log in to your Intuit account:
    • Scroll down to the Already have an account? section and click Sign In.
    • Enter your credentials and complete the purchase.

Alternatively, you can contact our Live Support Team for assistance. They can review your account and help purchase the correct subscription for your client under the right region. You can reach them here: Get help with QuickBooks products and services.
