Hi there, we recently updated our Tax Registration Number (TRN), I updated in the accounts and settings, but the old number still showing in the Invoice forms. Even creating new invoice form is the same old TRN showing. Any solutions for this?

We can go to Business ID No. field on updating your Tax Information in QuickBooks Online, Kerkurgel.

The reason the old TRN is still appearing is that we only have the CRN feature in the Custom Form styles. To resolve the issue of updating your TRN on the invoice, we can remove the outdated CRN numbers you’ve entered and then add the correct information in the Taxes menu.

First, let's remove the information added in the CRN feature. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Go to Custom Forms Style.
  2. Locate the default template and click on the Edit option.
  3. Select the Content tab and click on the Header body.
  4. In the Company registration number section, erase any information you've recently added.
  5. Click Done to confirm the changes.

Once done, we can now update your TRN in the Taxes menu section. Here's how:

  1. Navigate to the Taxes menu and click the Edit Tax button.
  2. Select Edit settings.
  3. In the Business ID No., enter your new TRN information.
  4. Click Save to confirm the changes.

Thanks for reaching out, kerkurgel. Updating your Tax Registration Number (TRN) in the Accounts and Settings will not automatically update and show the TRN on your invoice forms in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

This could be because the TRN displayed on invoices is pulled from your Custom Form Style. To update it, you’ll need to manually edit your invoice template and replace the old TRN with your new one.

Here's how:

  1. Navigate to the Gear Icon.
  2. Select Custom form styles.
  3. Choose the specific template for your invoices, and click Edit.

  4. Go to the Content tab, then click the section where yourTRN shows on the invoice(usually in the header section).
  5. If the TRN is shown in the Header section and you have used the Company Registration Number for your TRN, replace the old number with the latest one.

  6. Once everything is good, click Done.

If I enter in the field for Company Registration Number, this will happen. There is no field for entering or updating TRN from this section, only from the account settings - but I already did it and still old TRN showing.
