Question

Converting Estimate to Invoice - contents disappear

Can anyone explain why when I convert an Estimate to an Invoice and add a new invoice address the entire contents of the invoice disappear?!

90% of the invoices we generate will be invoiced to a different company to the one we addressed the estimate to. I can't understand why just changing the address name on an invoice would automatically delete the contents of the invoice?! It is a long-winded way of going about things having to re-input all the lines back in, when all I need to do is add a different address!

Is there a way to stop this?

Thanks

The invoice contents will only disappear when you change the customer from the one in the estimate, Heidi. Each transaction contains customer-specific information, so QuickBooks won't carry over details unique to the previous one.

However, changing only the billing address keeps the transaction details intact. If the entire invoice content disappears after updating the address, we can troubleshoot to determine if the stored cache is affecting the application's performance.

Let's start by clearing your browser's cache and cookies to ensure a fresh start and eliminate any unexpected behavior. If the issue continues, consider using other supported browsers to help identify the problem.

Speaking of, you can start recording invoice payments once you have received them to maintain accurate records.
